An Andy Rooney Day

An Andy Rooney Day

It must be my age or something, because technology and I don’t seem to connect easily.

What I don’t like is that I find myself spending hours attempting to learn something pertaining to technology only to find that once I know it, some strange internet villain comes around and what I just learned doesn’t work anymore.

So I now find myself spending more time either attempting, with my limited knowledge and ability, to solve the problem or have to ask my technology mentor and friend Cenay to fix things.

Eye Candy

Take for example, the Eye Candy, for the blog.  Don’t know who came up with that term, and all the other terms like SEO, widgets, etc. but I guess it works once you figure out the language.  That’s for a whole other discussion.

Have you noticed how little “Eye Candy” there is recently???  Cenay and I no sooner seem to fix the problem that the pics seem to disappear into the vast land of some forgotten place never to be found again.  There is no joy in solving this type of puzzle.

I’ve never really enjoyed solving puzzles.

The John Maxwell’s of the world say to spend most of your time doing what brings you joy.  Well guess what….technology does not bring me joy.  Technology taps into a place that says “I am not adequate.  I do not measure up.”  Not a good place to be.  All I want is for things to work when I push the key.  lol

What I Do Like

Now what does bring me joy is to be on coffee break with a friend.  To connect with people and have real conversation.  To share books, ideas, and hear about their dreams.  To assist them in reaching their goals even if it is to be a great cheerleader.

Joy always comes when spending quality time with my husband.  To walk together in nature and to play golf.  To hold hands and to laugh together as young newlyweds even tho we’ve been married 29 years.

Joy comes with connections with real live people in some way.

Joy comes from designing an office, like I just had installed, picking out the colors, and then have someone else put all of the pieces together creating my vision.  I love watching that kind of creation come together.

Joy is designing a life, and then turning that design in to a vision.  Working towards that creation, and seeing all of the people and circumstances that come along in helping to bring that vision to life.

That is joy in a nutshell for there is way too many things to share at this time.

That’s it for my “Andy Rooney” day.  I’m done complaining and off to connect with friends.

  1. Pretty – I is required to articulate, impressed with your site. I had no trouble navigating through all the tabs also information and facts has been tremendously very to access. I located what I expected before you know it all that. Very memorable. Is likely to appreciate it in the event you add user discussion forums something like that, quickly a optimal way for your customers to socialize. Ideal role..
