Awakening Your Sleeping Giants

Awakening Your Sleeping Giants

Have you said “Yes” to your greatness! How do you truly do that?

In a previous blog entitled “Achievable Goals, Part 1”, Anthony Robbins told us how important it was for us to uncover our inner conflicts. Bob Proctor says the same thing when he talks about recognizing our paradigms, and what our emotional state at any particular time is trying to tell us.

On the 2008 Bob Proctor Cruise, the speakers were consistently saying we needed to become aware, to internalize the information and to recognize how our paradigms have shaped our thinking, behaviors and choices we make.

Our Stuff And What To Do With It

When I left the Cruise, I thought what the speakers meant was: take the knowledge and apply it. Acknowledge my “stuff” and change how I thought about it. When the process becomes habitual it will be internalized.

Well, what I discovered is, discovering the “stuff” is not always that simple. What we see as “stuff” is usually only the “tip of the iceberg.” There was an understanding missing until just recently.

A few months ago I started a program called Holosync from Centerpointe. Bill Harris, founder of Centerpointe, recently sent a support letter that gave me a huge “Aha” moment.  He said, “awareness is not the same as intellectual knowing.”

awakening

Oops! There goes my theory from the Cruise.  I know a lot about the Law of Attraction and the 11 Forgotten Laws. I practice them. I bet many of you do too. Yet awareness and knowing are not the same thing. Bob Proctor on the Cruise was saying the same thing, yet I didn’t see it.

What I’ve come to grips with recently is that knowing about my “stuff” wasn’t enough and it isn’t the same as being aware.   Being aware involves observing how you do something.

Watching Your Movie

Eckhart Tolle says: “Saying “yes” to the moment takes you out of the “story.” What is meant here is as you learn to simply watch yourself, as going to a movie, you are no longer in the middle of the situation, and are able to see (become aware) how, as Bill Harris says, “you’ve been creating what happens in your life: how you create your feelings, your behaviors, what and whom you attract, and what and whom you become attracted to. You can only do something that does not serve you if you do it unconsciously—without awareness.”

self-awarenessswanFritz Peris, creator of Gestalt Therapy, once said “Awareness, in and of itself is transformative.” Awareness can create tremendous positive changes.

This clarification and expansion of what awareness is has helped me to connect more of the dots. Moving intellectual knowledge into the realm of internalization can truly be a challenge in this great journey of personal growth.

If you want to get to your sleeping giants and transform yourself into the great person that you are, learn to become aware. If you need help, check out www.Centerpointe.com and get your free demo CD. The process is well worth the journey.

  1. This process is about not only becoming aware of what’s going on in the subconscious, but learning how to release it and replace it with a vibration that serves you. We are vibration. That is our primary mode of communication. Accessing our vibration and changing that, is what will change your life. I discuss this in my upcoming book

  2. I’m not sure what Cecilia means Paulette, but perhaps I should read her upcoming book?

The easiest way I can understand what you (and Tony Robbins and Eckhart Tolle) mean is to stop looking out from within (egocentrically) with thought and ideas all related to how I FEEL.

Rather, it is good sometimes to imagine yourself as some alien being (or just somebody else) who is OBSERVING YOU doing what you’re doing.

If this makes sense, please let me know, because my brain is starting to hurt! :)

  3. Paulette Christian says:

Hey Luke, With awareness a person does pay attention to how they are feeling during different circumstances. What most of us do if, let’s say we are angry at the moment, is to either let loose on someone, fight the feelings.

With awareness, we step out of the way and observe the situation that got us angry and learn to recognize that something in us is attempting to protect itself. We can ask ourselves how does this behavior in this situation help us?

It is amazing what a person can discover about themselves when they learn to simply become an observer. A lot of behaviors stop and a different thought process develops.

Thank you for your comments. Always a pleasure hearing from you.

  4. Hi Guys! It is through feeling that we become aware. And being aware of our feelings converts the feeling process to a tool – a tool we use to become aware. That is if you have the awareness to do this. Observation, merely takes us to the moment so we can observe it. Yes. You can make changes to your behaviors in that moment but it may not change your vibration. Vibration dictates law of attraction. That something in us that is attempting to protect us is called the ego. Nobody likes that word because somehow, along the way, it got a bad rap. But the truth is, we need that ego to protect us, until we become aware of who we are. Once we do, then the ego is the happiest critter on the planet because it doesn’t have to work any more. And yes! You should read my book! :-)

  5. A-Haaaaa! By Jove, I think I’ve GOT It!!!! Thank you ladies. NOW my problem is going to be, HOW do I stop in the middle of being (say) angry and try to observe myself from without.

Is there any easy way of doing this? Any psychological tricks I can use?

  6. There is never an “easy” way to do any of this stuff, in my opinion. The question you should be asking is if it’s worth it. In awareness, you can watch yourself being angry and do something, whatever that is, and the question would be if it had the result you are after. I want to honor Paulette and her experience, as I understand that it has helped her. And by the way, all of it helps to one degree or another, it’s really a matter of what it is you want to know and how far you are willing to go. So, that being said, from my experience, as you are aware that you are angry, you then want to experience the anger in the moment, from your feeling self. As you feel it today, look to another time in your life when you felt the exact same feeling. Remember, you are working from your feeling self, your heart or your psychic mind, if you will. Go back to that time and basically re-live it, but with a twist. When you are there, say, do, behave, whatever that you wanted to do then, but couldn’t and express that anger. What you are trying to do here is get to the pain that the anger is masking. Once you do, you should be crying. Yes. Crying and feeling the injustice or pain of the moment. In that moment, see the truth of the situation and then see how that is playing in your life today. The trut h is usually a lie that you were led to believe, kind of. It can get a little deep at this point. Then replace that truth/lie with a truth that serves you. Once you make the connection, then spend three pages writing about it. You’ll be surprised and what you get out of doing this.

Please note that this is a very simplistic approach that I have described here and if not done correctly may not produce the results you are after. I highly recommend studying humans and how they work from a physical stand point. The spiritual aspect is an important aspect of who we are, but often times, we make the mistake of forgetting our physical side. The truth is we are a balance of the two and when we are in balance, all things behave in harmony or sychronicity.

It is my intention to develop a website where these kinds of things are discussed and people can get insight from a different perspective. It complients the teachings of Bob Proctor and others like him, but takes those teachings to a deeper level, a level I dont’ see anybody discussing. The book I’m writing touches on this subject. I will let you know as each phase is completed

    Hope this helps.

  7. VERY much appreciated Cecilia. I’ll try this the next time I’m feeling something not TOO overwhelming. That way, I should be able to take baby-steps to ease myself into doing it when it will REALLY count. Now I must go and think of something to pick a fight with my wife about :)

Looking forward to your book AND website.

Paulette, thanks for having such an interesting website!

    Luke.

  8. Just wanted to thank you Cecilia for your awesome input. Makes for great dialogue. We are looking forward to your book so be sure and keep us in the loop.

Thank you too Luke. I truly appreciate your comments, questions and dialogue.

  9. This entire conversation (including the great comments from everyone) has reminded me of some things I know, but have allowed to run unchecked (unmonitored) in my life.

Thanks for reminding me that I am the author of this *movie*, and nothing is created in my life without my agreement, whether intentional or unconsciousness.

With that said, I plan to have an highly *intentional* day and wish the same for you as well.
